Zenith Journal *February Recap

For the shortest month, I had the most amount of in-person workshops in 2 years. Which to be honest, isn’t hard (thee-who-shall-not-be-mentioned *cough*).

It was so nice to do workshops with teams, using physical card-sorts, post-it and some Kate-style “brain breaks” my clients have learnt to love (yes, I have a ‘workshop’ suitcase that travels to clients with me, full of all the fantastic tools).  As much as I’ve learnt to create a fantastic online-experience, nothing beats the ‘water-cooler’ conversations that participants have in the breaks.

For fun, I auditioned for a musical… more about that (and my audition demons!) in future weeks.

Here’s what else happened this month:

✨ On My Nightstand ✨

I set a goal to read 22 books this year – so hopefully there’ll be two books listed each month in this segment.. watch this space.

Women and Leadership (Julia Gillard and Ngozi Oknojo-Iweala) ⭐⭐

Interesting read to hear stories from the careers of women in politics across the globe.  Although it wasn’t high on practical application, it helped open my mind to some biases (including my own!), and also increased my understanding of the world.

Dare to Lead, Brene Brown ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The tags on ‘Dare to Lead’ are a good indication of how practical I found the book. Highly recommended for leadership and life.

Any suggestions for next month? Hit reply and let me know.

👂 My favourite podcast is What You Will Learn. Hosted by Adam and Adam, two Aussie blokes that love reading great books. Each week they share the best bits from the best books, and interview the world’s top authors. The books they cover can help you improve every area of your life, from your health to your wealth, from your relationships to your mindset. You’ll learn to pick up healthier habits, and drop the ones that are holding you back. They put the world’s best ideas within your reach, for a fraction of the time it would take to read the full book. I love it because it gives me the book highlights, and if I like it, I can then go and read it (no wasted time or money on books that I hate!). Plus, so many clients talk about different books, and I like to have a good general knowledge on what they’re about.

📺 If you’re intrigued by all my tabs on the book ‘Dare to Lead’ above, but don’t love reading, consider watching The Call to Courage on Netflix.  Delivered by Brene Brown, it feels like a mix of a motivational speech and a stand-up comedy special.  She addresses what courage is in life and the workplace, and how to get more comfortable with the uncomfortable.

✨ Zenith Updates ✨

  • This month saw a new service called “VIP days”. I jump boots-and-all into your biz with my “Chief People Officer” hat, “Culture Curator” hat or “Design our Leadership Program” hat and work IN your business with you.  You won’t find this on my website, just for those who are Zenith friends – like you!

  • ‘The Founder’s Team had me as a guest for their Mastermind Program (👋 hi Founders Fam!). I did a masterclass on how to give feedback as part of their program kick-off. We also chatted about how accountable everyone wants to be held to their personal goals (yep – people have different ratings!)

  • There’s some really exciting stuff launching next month, including a new website and something that starts with ‘P’ 🤫

Til next month
