The Feedback Formula

I absolutely love travelling and have been fortunate enough to visit 38 countries and counting. Currently, I'm on an exciting adventure, but this time, there's a twist – I'm travelling with my five-month-old baby, Alba. It's a whole new experience that both excites and makes me nervous. I want her to grow up exploring the world, just like me, with a passion for continuous learning.

Interestingly, being a leader and giving feedback share the same mix of scary-meets-exciting feelings. Like a nervous flyer going through airport security, the idea of giving feedback can be intimidating. You want to learn and help others grow, but the fear of the unknown can hold you back.

Yet, I firmly believe that practice makes progress. That's why I'm inviting you to join my upcoming free masterclass on "how to give feedback that doesn't suck." It's scheduled for either August 21st or 22nd, depending on your time zone. By the end of the session, you'll be equipped with the Feedback Formula and ready to have those conversations you've been longing for. You'll even witness a live feedback exchange.

Interested? You can find more details and secure your seat through the link in the show notes. Remember, giving feedback may seem scary, but it doesn't have to be. Let's learn together, and I'll help you gain the confidence to provide constructive feedback to your team.

Episode Transcript:

Kate Peardon: [00:00:00] I love to travel. I have been to 38 countries and counting. In fact, I'm on a traveling adventure right now, and there's an extra twist to consider. Traveling with a five month old baby. Now in general, visiting a new place can be equally exciting and uncertain. You're in unfamiliar surroundings, but it's so rewarding to see the world. You're out of your comfort zone, but you also have the opportunity to grow.

Bringing Alba along on this trip is a whole new experience. One that I've been both nervous and eager about. I want her to grow up seeing the world and to share that same appreciation I have for continuous learning too. And when you think about it, being a leader gives it similar, scary-meets-exciting feelings, specifically giving feedback.

If you're not a frequent flyer, you might feel more nervous going through security or getting settled on the plane. If you're not a seasoned feedback giver, you might get anxious leading [00:01:00] up to the conversation. Your intentions are good. You want to learn and grow, but you don't know what you don't know, and that's intimidating.

But like anything, practice makes progress. What better time to learn and practice then right now. I would love you to join me in my upcoming free master class on "how to give feedback that doesn't suck".

This masterclass is on the 21st or 22nd of August, depending on what time zone you're in. And at the end of the masterclass, you will learn the Feedback Formula. You'll have mapped out a feedback conversation. You've been longing to have. And you'll also see a feedback conversation happen live.

You can learn more and save your seat by clicking the link in the show notes. So, yes, giving feedback can be scary, but it doesn't have to be. Let's get you set up with the basics so you can feel confident and comfortable giving constructive feedback to your team.

If you'd like to see how our European trip is going, [00:02:00] you can follow me on Instagram, on Zenith Journey or on LinkedIn, under my name, Kate Peardon. Thanks for tuning in and make sure you sign up for the free Feedback Formula Masterclass called "Giving Feedback That Doesn't Suck".
